Mauricio Lorca’s range is full of delightful wines that array a puriness of fruit which is not combined with Argentine Malbec, exploiting the natural freshness of his grapes, owing to the high altitude at which his vineyars are located.
The ‘Recoleta’ was named after Eva Peron, the name comes from the cemetery in Buenos Aires where she's buried.
Recoleta is a polished & easy-drinking Malbec, with dark brambly fruit and a soft finish. An incredible -value-for-money Malbec, very juicy and ripe, packed with bright redcurrants, violets and sweet Indian spices, raspberries and vanilla.
It is all you want from Argentinian Malbec at this level. Made by the brilliant Mauricio Lorca in his high altitude vineyards in Vista Flores & Uco valley.
Layers of raspberry and spicy plum fruit give way to a touch of vanilla and chocolate feel. Lorca has really delivered an excellent fruit concentration and elegance, it's an absolute pleaser.
It is Criolla Grande rather than the more refined Criolla Chica harvest but, in the proficient hands of Mauricio, parts the same qualities of pale colour, floral and spice smell with delightfully vibrant berry fruit and fresh acidity, all of which should claim to admires of Pinot Noir with the desired cost.
A perfect wine to enjoy a juicy beef burguer.
