Information
Bodega Atamisque presents the amusing Serbal Cabernet Franc, this wine was previously a blending component in the amazing Serbal Assemblage. Its influence was so huge on that blend that Atamisque decided to go for the whole hog and bottle with the single varietal, so the Serbal Cabernet Franc was born.
Argentinian Cabernet Franc has an imminent bright future, with the potential that this grape has shown in the past years, the production continues to rise more and more each year, and the only thing holding up Cab Franc to be one of Argentina's best is the small number of hectares currently planted, but Argentinian producers have seen the rise of the grape and the potential that can bring to the market, so this is changing very fast. This wine is one of the best examples you can find from this lovely grape produced in Tupungato, Uco Valley. This is definitely on top of our list, with no doubt.
Tasting Notes
Classic Cab Franc notes of fresh capsicum and pencil shavings on the nose, fresh and clean, a gorgeously aromatic, ripely fruited delight. Made with delicious pure red berry fruit notes and characteristic fresh lead pencil, graphite and pepper notes.
The palate is ripe with cassis fruit and floral notes together with touches of tobacco delivering a long and luscious finish.
"Serbal is the cheaper of the (three, Ed) ranges at Atamisque, which makes this scented, refined Cabernet Franc an outstanding bargain. Poised and perfumed, it has a touch of oak, cool elegance and notes of green pepper, chalk and cassis."
